The Christian Life is Hard

The Christian life is not easy. Yep, I said it. People are lying to you if they say that it is. There are highs and lows in our walks, and that’s OK. The highs of our faith are times where we can dwell in the presence of the Lord, feeling refreshed in the nearness of Him. They’re blessings!! We can be used greatly during that time, if we allow God to use us.
But, there are the low times. In those times, we feel far from God, as if He’s not there, but He is. If you’re in that spot right now(I’ve definitely gone through my share of them), lean in. Take this time to push yourself in your learning, in your prayer life. “Read the Bible even when it feels like eating cardboard. And pray even when it feels like talking to a wall.” -Desiring God ”Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law... Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” Psalm 119:18, 76 “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16
Only by persevering through this time can we begin to feel the nearness of our Father again. Remind Him of His promises in your prayers. “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:8-10
