When It's Hard to "Be Still"

I live my life in a constant busy state. I have two jobs, help with my church’s youth group, attend my age group’s bible study, and try and make time for a social life. The thing is... I love it! I love going and going and having a plan for each moment of the day. But, I forget that, sometimes, I just need to stop for a short time.
The Bible calls us to “be still” (Psalm 37:7, Psalm 46:10). It’s okay to work and hang out with friends, but I’ve found that I need to force myself to just stop. To be with the Lord, and be still before His throne. To forget for a moment the things I have to do for the day, to stop stressing over the tasks I need to complete and just remember the work that God has done. To remember Him. Joel Beeke said once that, "Disciplined meditation on Scripture helps us to focus on God." Taking the time each day to intentionally stop and study God's Word forces us to take our minds off of the craziness of day-to-day life, the frustrations and stressors of this world, and remind ourselves that this life is only us passing through. Our true home is in the life to come, if we are in Jesus. It forces us to change our perspective, and focus on what truly is important. God's glory, which will then lead to our satisfaction.
Do any of you struggle to “be still”? What do you do to combat the craziness of life to take a moment for prayer and reading?
